The Du Quoin High School baseball team dropped a pair of high-scoring games in a double-header at Herrin Saturday afternoon, 9-7 and 14-8, respectively.
In game one, Bryce Clarry started the game for the Indians, surrendering nine runs (seven earned) on hits and one walk, while striking out three over four innings of work.
Du Quoin did the majority of its damage in the fourth inning, getting a pair of RBI's from Ashton Smith(2-for-5 2RBI) and Tevin Lee, while Braden Lee and Jordan Edwards knocked in a run each.
Alex Zimmerman tossed two shutout innings in relief for Clarry, not allowing a hit, striking out two while allowing one walk.
Herrin scored four runs in the first, one in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth to round out its scoring in game one, collecting nine hits and two walks.

In game two, Herrin jumped out to an early lead, scoring seven runs (four earned) in the first inning off Indian pitcher Braden Lee who went just 1 1/3 innings.
Lee did deliver at the plate for the Indians, going a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
The Indians used four different pitchers in the game, as Hank Stewart came in relief of Lee, followed by Will Woodside and Ryan Meyers.
