Du Quoin Indians roll past Waterloo Gibault, advance to the title game against Nashville

Braden Lee scattered eight  hits as the Du Quoin Baseball Indians defeated Waterloo Gibault  Catholic 6-1 Thursday night at Nashville.
Now 15-11 overall, Du Quoin now advances to play Nashville Saturday morning at 11 a.m. for the IHSA Class 2A  regional title.
Gibault ends its    year at  13-18.
Drew Doggan put Waterloo on top 1-0  in the first with a sac flyond, but the Indians in the third.
Hank Stewart walked and stole  second, scoring  on a two run  double by Brock Bullar.
With the score 1-1, the Indians scored twice on back-to-back wild pitches to take a  3-1 lead.
Dalton Day and Ashton Smith eventually scored  on back-to-back pitches by  Waterloo Gibault Catholic starter and loser Trevor Davis.
Du Quoin stretched the lead 4-1 in the sixth when Smith walked and scored on a two- double by Cole Hopkins.
The Indians added its final two  runs in the seventh.
Jordan Edwards spanked a two run single, making it 6-1.
Starting pitcher B. Lee scattered  eight hits and struck out five, walking just one.
Hopkins, B. Lee and Tevin Lee had two hits. Bullar, Edwards and Smith all added  hits for Du Quoin.
The Indians lost to Nashville 10-1 and 6-1 earlier in the season.
