Norma Catherine Stevens, 90, passed away on Tuesday,, Nov. 29, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Norma was born Dec. 22, 1931, to Rudolph and Kate (Nance) Lipe in Pomona. She married Charles Laverne Stevens April 24, 1951, in DeSoto. He preceded her in death June 16, 2000.
Norma is survived by her children, Kathy (Tom) Van Ness and Kenneth (Kelly) Stevens; grandchildren Josh Van Ness, Sabrina (Robert) Carr, Gregory (Michelle) Stevens and Victoria (Toby) Scott; and great-grandchildren Hayley Van Ness, Olivia Stevens, Ayla Stevens, Nora Scott and Desi Scott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Norma loved her family dearly. She was a dedicated member of Murdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends. Norma was an avid Cardinals fan and loved watching the games with her family.
Services for Norma were Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Meredith Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating. Visitation was Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial followed at Murdale Garden of Memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale.
