Teddy Gene Bowen, 69, born to the late Teddy and Lucy Bowen on June 28, 1952 in Pekin, Illinois, passed away on Nov. 3, 2021 in Princeton, Illinois, in the presence of family and holding the hand of Teresa (Macaluso) Bowen his beloved wife and best friend. He lived in Hennepin, Illinois.

He was a loving father to Corey, Joanna and Elizabeth (Jason) Zielinski; a very proud grandfather to Jacob, Julia, Sierra, Drew, Eva and Joshua; dear brother to Dana (Gus) Tallo, Barbara (Sam) Macaluso and Paula Summers; and an uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Teddy, or "Butch" as everyone knew him, was a devoted family man with a strong Christian faith. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a retired iron worker and coal miner.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling across the country and were blessed with a special trip to Italy. Butch was a friend to many, and always a person you could depend on.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren teaching them about woodworking or one of his other many interests and talents. There was very little he was not good at.

He was always there for us, offering some valuable life advice or sharing a funny story, Some of our favorites were his stories about his childhood growing up in Cutler, Illinois. When he wasn't with his family he devoted his time to his church where he enjoyed being a part of the security team or having coffee with his dear friends Pastor Bob and Pastor John.

He was always helping others in need and sharing his amazing life experience. He will be deeply missed.

Interment will be private and a memorial celebration of his life will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Teen Challenge in Pekin, Illinois.
