Norb Jausel, age 76, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois.

Norb was born on Oct. 20, 1944 in Swanwick, Illinois, a son to Kermit and Wilma (Ibendahl) Jausel. On Sept. 29, 2001, he married Linda Degenhardt and she survives.

Norb worked as a carpenter and was owner/operator of his own truck hauling for Gilster Mary Lee. He was a Christian and member of the National Rifle Association.

Norb enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with grandchildren, vacationing, gardening, making deer sausage, shooting pool and watching Pinckneyville Panther basketball. He was everyone's favorite tax man.

Survivors include his wife Linda Jausel of Pinckneyville; and eight children, Nick Jausel of Swanwick, Illinois; Bryan (Becky) Jausel of Nashville, Illinois; Sheri (Chris) Jausel of Jefferson City, Missouri; Tom (Sylvie) Jausel of Jacksonville, Florida; Eric (Jewel) Jausel of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jason (Karen) Craig of Du Quoin, Illinois; Jarid Craig of Austin, Texas; and Josh Craig of Du Quoin.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Runyon and Althea Hinds, both of Swanwick; sister-in-law Shirley Schweizer of Swanwick; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vincent Jausel; and one brother-in-law, Kenny Runyon.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery in Swanwick.

Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home of Pinckneyville from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 18 and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Monday prior to the service.
