On Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, Merry Melody "Missy" Wescovich Sinks of Benton passed away of cancer at the age of 57. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and an incredible friend to many. Missy was loyal to her loved ones and tended to her friendships. A true caregiver at heart, she nurtured everyone, from babies to elderly loved ones in declining health. Strong yet sensitive, she lived life on her terms. We couldn't help but love her.

Born on June 30, 1963, she was raised by her father, Leroy F. Wescovich and stepmother, Donna Martin Wescovich, in Lutcher, La. Missy graduated from Lutcher High School in 1981 and attended both LSU and Parkland College in Champaign. She found happiness as an essential part of the Camp Manitowa family, where she was caretaker, cook and ambassador.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Boise Cullum (Chelsea) of Mt. Vernon, and her grandson Steven J. Boise; son Steven H. Boise (Ashley) of Saint Augustine, Fla., and her grandson Lucas; committed and attentive companion of nearly eight years, David McMurray; her father Coach Leroy, of Lutcher, La.; brother David Stephen Wescovich; granddaughters Brittany Berry-Miles and Catrina Dennis; grandson Shawn Dennis II; sister-in-law Karen Sinks Moore (Jamie); son-in-law James Hickman; ex-husband and father of her children James "Jim" Lynn Boise; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, C. Lee Sinks, II; in-laws Calvin Lee Sinks and Naomi Sue Tapp Sinks of Benton; mother Donna; paternal grandparents Eugene William Wescovich and Aurora Breaux Wescovich of De Lisle, Miss.; and grandparents Murphy J. Martin and Onita Landry Martin of Grand Point, La.

Missy requested to be cremated and have a tree planted in her memory at her cherished Camp Manitowa, so that children could enjoy it for years to come. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to Toys for Tots, St. Jude's, Camp Manitowa or the charity of your choice.
