Norma Jean Misselhorn, 77, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:49 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 at her daughter's house.

Norma was born to the late Clyde and Marjorie (nee Lindhorst) Tilley on Oct. 24, 1943 in Columbia, Illinois. She married Donald L. Misselhorn on Feb. 2, 1963 in Chester, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1999.

Norma worked at American Device Manufacturing/Dorma Door Controls in Steeleville, Illinois for 33 years.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, and IAM Local #673. She collected owls and lighthouses.

Norma is survived by three children, William "Bill" (Conni) Tilley of Belleville, Illinois, Brenda (Charlie) Reese of Sparta, Illinois and Karen (Marty) Bert of Chester; four brothers, Francis (Kaye) Tilley of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Edward (Pat) Tilley of Columbia; Roy (Theresa) Tilley of Columbia and Wilbur (Pat) Tilley of Dupo, Illinois; six sisters, Sarah (Harry Roberts) Rice of Columbia, Lola Hafley of Belleville, Betty Roberts of St. Louis, Sandy (Joe) Gucinski of Superior, Wisconsin, Judy (Jim) McNail of DeSoto, Missouri and Leona (Gary) Stumpf of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Katie Daschka, Clinton (Elizabeth) Bert, Cortney Reese, Kellie (Josh) Louveau, Chelsey Reese, Alec Tilley and Kayla Bert; and seven great-grandchildren, Collin & Alayna Owens, Huntlie & Joseph Louveau, Brayden & Lane Bert, Addison Elliott and Brylyn Penny; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother-in-law, Curt Hafley.

A public visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21 and again from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, both at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester. A private funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home, with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating.

A public interment will begin at noon on Monday, at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.

Pechacek Funeral Homes is limited to 50 people inside the building at one time. Guests are asked to wear masks and use social distancing guidelines.

Memorials in Norma's name are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Peace Lutheran Church.
