Eli L. Brandibas, 80, passed away Feb. 2, 2021, with his family by his side in Concord, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie (Mounier), and his father, Eli Brandibas.

Eli lived the majority of his life in the Granite City area working as a meat cutter at the Melvin Price Army Depot commissary. He was a loving husband, proud father and caring member of a large extended family. He was also involved in various activities at the local Southern Baptist Church, where he was a member in the 42 years he lived in Illinois. He moved to North Carolina with several family members after retiring and enjoyed traveling and cruising over the next 12 years. He came to have several nicknames; he was called Butch most of his life but was known as Grandpop and Bapop by his grandchildren. He enjoyed getting together with various family members and seeing his children grow and mature.

Eli is survived by his wife, Carol, of 54 years; two sisters, Marie Loftus of Granite City and Margaret Arnold of Overland Park, Kan.; two brothers, Joseph Brandibas of Iuka and Maurice Brandibas of Benton; two sisters-in-law, Connie Brandibas of Iuka and Linda Brandibas of Benton; three daughters, Wendy Grissom of Yukon, Okla., Patricia Brandibas of Concord, N.C., and Bobbi lovely called Squirt Antoff of Harrisburg, N.C.; two sons-in-law, James Grissom of Yukon, Okla., and Kevin Antoff of Harrisburg, N.C.; one granddaughter, Kristy Grissom of Yukon, Okla.; three grandsons, Wesley Grissom of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dustin Antoff of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Dylan Antoff of Ft. Worth, Texas; and two great-grandsons, Brayden Duncan of Yukon, Okla., and Mason Duncan of Yukon, Okla.

Visitation was at Pitts Baptist Church of Concord on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at 10 a.m., and funeral services immediately followed at 11 a.m. Rev. Scott Davis officiated. Burial was at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon the following week.
