John Chrisman "Chris" Uhles, 65, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at his residence.

Chris was a warehouse operator for General Cable/the Prysmian Group for 47 years. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin. Chris was also a member of the Teamsters union.

He was born Nov. 2, 1955 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the son of Robert and Norma (Marshall) Uhles.

He is survived by a brother, Dan (Marla) Uhles of Du Quoin; a sister, Robyn Roach of Du Quoin; nieces and nephews Melissa Uhles and Kelly Waldrup of Shiloh, Illinois, Amy (Adam) Hill of Du Quoin, Sean Uhles of Aurora, Illinois, Nicki (Aaron) Asbury of Du Quoin, Neil Uhles of Du Quoin, and Erin (Kevin) Cook and husband Kevin of Royalton, Illinois; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Michael Uhles; and one nephew, LCpl Drew Uhles.

Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Robert Morwell and Jane (Miller) Pritchett officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the cemetery. Visitors are asked to use social distancing guidelines. and everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, St. John's United Church of Christ in Du Quoin or the Perry County Humane Society. These will be accepted at the funeral home.
