Walter 'Billy' Smith, formerly of Benton

Walter "Billy" Smith of Louisville, Ky., and formerly of Benton passed away June 6, 2020, at his home with his best friend and sister, Robin Thomas, by his side.
Billy was born May 11, 1960, to Dale "Punk" Smith and Maxine Smith.
Billy's passion was thoroughbred horses. He enjoyed breaking and galloping, as well as being a valet in the jockey room at Churchill Downs, Keenland, Oakland Race Track in Hot Springs, Arkansas, as well as at Kentucky Downs. He was a cosmetologist and enjoyed cutting hair. He loved to ride his Harley in his spare time. He was fondly referred to as "Vidal" and "WW" by his friends.
Billy was proceeded in death by his father, grandmother Lottie Bradshaw, cousin George Allen Upchurch, and friends Pat Carr and Bill Smothers.
Surviving Billy are his mother, Maxine Smith of Benton; sister Robin Thomas of Benton; daughters Samantha Smith of Marion and Mia Maxine Amiotte of Indianapolis; nieces Mica Thomas and Megan (Aaron) Robinson, both of Benton; great-nephews Dominic Thomas and Oliver Robinson, both of Benton; and many dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
