Robert Michael McMahan, 68 of Murphysboro, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1949 to Robert and Elizabeth (Campbell) McMahan in Effingham. Robert married Kathy Parkhurst on April 20, 1995. They have shared 22 years of marriage.
He had been a bricklayer with his dad; an LPN at Lakeland Nursing Home in Effingham; a cook at various places and an electrician in Sarasota and Orlando.
He loved airplanes, history, Elvis, oldies music and chess.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kathy McMahan of Murphysboro; two sons, Michael McMahan and John McMahan, both of Murphysboro; three daughters, Christy McMahan of Anna; Amanda McMahan of Murphysboro and Elizabeth McMahan of Effingham; five granddaughters, Isabelle Pierce of Effingham; Adeline of Herrin; Brittanie, Megan and Angelica; four grandsons, Nick and Nathan McMahan of Louisana; Wes and Casey; a stepson, James King of Effingham; siblings, Scott, Tim, Steve, Karen, Todd and Pat; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David McMahan and a daughter, Kimberly McMahan.
Services were private for Robert Michael McMahan. Cremation was accorded.
Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
