BENTON -- Betty June West, 86, of Colleyville, Texas, formerly of Benton and Pekin, passed away at 2:22 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, in Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas.

She was born July 20, 1930, in Benton to William and Leona (Glenn) Fisher. She married Joseph Edgar West on Sept. 20, 1952, in Benton.

Survivors include three sons, Donald (Karen) West of Colleyville, Texas, James (Denise) West of Pekin and Michael (Barbara) West of Antioch, Tennessee; daughter, Kristi (Neil) Breeden of Brentwood, Tennessee; and brother, Roy (Jean) Fisher of O'Fallon, Missouri.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Cara (Ryan) Zuklin and David (Kaitlynd) West, both of Pekin, Jayme West of Tremont, Nicholas West of Antioch, Tennessee, and Kaitlyn West, Donald J. West and Daniel West, all of Colleyville, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kori DeWitt; two great-grandsons, Mychael West and Paxton Couch; and great-granddaughter, Rosalynn West, due to be born in mid-June.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Ruby Taylor; and two brothers, Charles Fisher and Donald Fisher.

A devoted mother, she loved the Lord, studying the Bible, singing, music, cooking, baking and working on ancestry. She loved family get-togethers or just sitting and talking. She never knew a stranger.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin for over 60 years and a member of Liberty Bells ladies quartet. She also had served as Sunday school secretary and taught Sunday school.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, in Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin with the Rev. John West officiating. Burial was in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the church.
