Elsie Mae Offerman, age 87, of Benton, IL, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 1:03 p.m. at her daughter's home.
Elsie was born on October 5, 1928 in Chester, IL, a daughter to Edward and Iva (Hale) Boling. On October 5, 1945, she married Floyd Pete Offerman in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1974. Elsie worked at Luke's Restaurant in Pinckneyville for 23 years and she was the owner for 8 years. Elsie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Norma Jean Lohman of Mesquite, TX and Sharlyn Kay (Donald) Gunter of Benton, IL; one daughter-in-law, Betty Offerman of Beaumont, TX; six grandchildren, Sherri Gunter, Jason (Shawna) Gunter, Cory Gunter, Angie (Matt) Hoover, Julie Offerman (Lee Snelgrove), and Genna Offerman (fiance, James Rooke); five great-grandchildren, Jordon Gunter, Gavin Gunter, Shayna Sloan, Jushua Gunter, Jaslyn Gunter, and Jaxon Gunter; one sister, Norma Tiller of Carterville, IL; one brother-in-law, Theo Allen of Chicago, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd; one son, Garry Offerman; one granddaughter, Dana Lynn Filipsic; three sisters, Merline Allen, Betty Warren and in infancy, Marvalee Boling; and one brother, Charles Boling.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Willie Murphey officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
