THE TRADITION CONTINUES: Candy Cane Lane is set to open Friday at West Frankfort City Park -- thanks to lots of Tim Murphy's friends who wanted to pay tribute

WEST FRANKFORT -- Tim Murphy's beloved Candy Cane Lane, a southern Illinois favorite, will continue in West Frankfort, thanks to more than 60 of his friends who have volunteered to keep the tradition alive.

This year's display is at the West Frankfort City Park and will include the use of all of Murphy's decorations with the addition of "A Tribute to Tim Murphy" at the entrance and exit to the park.

Organizers Iris and Bob Kohzadi said the display will open on Friday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. with an official lighting.

Visitors are welcome to either walk or drive through the display that has drawn thousands to West Frankfort each year.
