The Benton Rotary Club hosted a successful 5K run/walk event Saturday, May 22 at the Rend Lake Dam.

Hunter Malan was the overall and male winner, while Annette Campbell led the female runners. The fastest walker was Martha Magers, while the Benton Rotary Club's own John Aiken led the male walkers.

Medals were awarded in several age categories to both runners and walkers.

Participants ranged in age from 8 to over 80. The youngest was Hayden Corn, whose dad, Jason Corn, the current president of the Benton Rotary Club, finished fourth overall despite pushing a stroller containing Hayden's two younger brothers for the entire race.

The event was held thanks to participants' entry fees, t-shirt sales, raffle tickets and sponsorships from dozens of local businesses.
