Scooter is a 1.5-year-old Mini Aussie/terrier mix who loves people!

Scooter is an energetic jumping bean -- very playful! He's very curious about and likes other dogs. In fact, he likes other dogs so much that he actually sneaked into a woman's yard and hung out with her dogs for a few days before he was surrendered to us!

With other dogs, Scooter has no boundaries -- he's a bit like the annoying little brother who is always in your face and never knows when to stop, so any dog siblings will need to be tolerant of that behavior.

There was a cat in his original home, so cats should be fine.

Scooter's previous owner could no longer care for him, but loves him very much and sent along his blanket, pillow, Nylabone and crate, all of which will go to his new home with him.

Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting.

We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to bathroom habits and demeanor. Please realize that they need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting.

If you have any specific questions about Scooter, email the shelter volunteer at or go to to apply.
