Carnegie Library marks 105th birthday with new services offered

MARION -- More than a dozen local officials and members of the Marion Chamber of Commerce gathered on the steps of he Marion Carnegie Library on Thursday afternoon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate 105 years of service to the community.

The event also marked the official opening of the library's new Technology Lab and Children's Playroom.

Library Director Loretta Broomfield says the new services will offer unique opportunities for the library patrons.

"As more technology becomes available, we are doing our best to include as many amenities as we can to better serve our guests," she said.
