Winter weather roars into Benton

  • Winter weather came roaring into Benton and most of southern Illinois starting last week, making life more difficult for area drivers like Beth Cunningham, who had to clean her windshield off before heading home after working all day at the Franklin County Clerk's office, which is temporarily located in the Campbell Building. The winter storm also meant various governing bodies had their road crews out and about, around the clock, clearing the roads. This IDOT snow plow is shown clearing the snow and ice along West Main Street in Benton after sunset.
