Another 85 COVID-19 cases in Perry County confirmed over weekend

The number of COVID-19 cases continued to rise in Perry County over the weekend, as another 85 cases were confirmed between Friday and Monday, the Perry County Health Department said in a news release Monday afternoon.

As well, two more deaths from COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total to 20. There were 272 active cases of the coronavirus in Perry County as of Monday, the health department said.

"In the past 72 hours, the Perry County Health Department has been notified of 85 additional laboratory confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total positive cases ... to 993," since the pandemic began, the news release said.

"We are saddened to report two additional deaths, two males in their 80s," the release added.

The diagnosed individuals include:

• One girl and two boys under 5.

• Three girls under 14.

• One teen female under 19.

• Two males under 20.

• Six women and four men in their 20s.

• Five women and seven men in their 30s.

• Eight women and three men in their 40s.

• 12 women in their 50s.

• Three women and seven men in their 60s.

• Four women and two men in their 70s.

• Seven women and two men in their 80s.

• Five women and one man in their 90s.

The summary of the 993 confirmed cases are 272 active cases, 701 recovered patients who have been released from isolation, and 20 deaths.
