SOUTHERN ILLINOIS -- Republican Judge David Overstreet won a spot on the Illinois Supreme Court over Democratic opponent Judy Cates to replace Lloyd Karmeier in Tuesday's election.
With unofficial totals showing 94 percent of precincts in the Fifth Appellate Court District reporting, Overstreet had 358,455 votes compared to Cates' 212,512.
