The post of Franklin County coroner was on the ballot Tuesday.
Coroner Marty Leffler, a Democrat first elected in 2008, faced a challenge from Republican Brandon Odle.
With 35 of 35 Franklin County precincts reporting, Leffler claimed 9,260 votes to Odle's 8,774. Odle led for much of the evening until Leffler surged ahead at the end.
In other county news, running unopposed for a second term as Franklin County circuit clerk was Jim Muir on the Republican ticket.
Current vote totals may not yet include all ballots cast in this election, and they won't be final until canvassed by elections officials.
