Perry County State's Attorney David H. Searby, Jr., has announced the following sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections during June 2020.

• Matthew T. Stowers, 36, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to a petition to revoke probation for the original offense of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony, on June 3, 2020. Stowers was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year mandatory supervised release period. The Du Quoin Police Department, with assistance from the Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Stowers matter.

• Skylar I. Knapp, 21, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to a petition to revoke probation for the original offense of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, on June 29, 2020. Knapp was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year mandatory supervised release period. The Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Knapp matter.
