CARBONDALE -- Lisa Janssen, Executive Director of Carbondale Community Arts, will discuss the organization's activities at the Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement meeting on Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m.
She will focus on World Fest, the organization's newest program, which brings international musical ensembles to small Midwest communities for intensive week-long residencies. Janssen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting & Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Graduate Certificate in Arts & Culture Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice. She began working at Carbondale Community Arts in 2012 as a part-time program manager and has been its executive director since 2016.
The meeting, free and open to the public, will be held at Grace United Methodist Church located at 220 N. Tower Road in Carbondale. A coffee and social hour will begin at 9:30 a.m.
