Franklin 4-Her's receive Farm Credit grant

  • Farm Credit Illinois recently awarded a community improvement grant in the amount of $400 to the Independent 4-Her's Club of Franklin County, which will use the grant funds to update flower planters throughout downtown Whittington. Members will learn how to select plants for lighting conditions and will share the responsibility for watering and weeding through the summer months. Independent 4-Her's was one of 50 4-H clubs and FFA chapters to receive a community improvement grant from Farm Credit Illinois in 2018. A total of $20,000 in grant funds has been awarded to clubs and chapters making tangible contributions in their communities by implementing an improvement project.
