Local SIU employees recognized for service

SIUC Chancellor Carlo Montemagno recognized 306 employees, including several from Benton and Franklin County, during a ceremony and reception Dec. 1.

The event honored employees with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service to SIU Carbondale. The employees have a combined total of 5,160 years of service to the university. There are 19 employees with 30 years of service, five employees with 35 years of service and three with 40 years of service.

Among the local ones are:

Benton

15 years: Kimberly Jo Sanders, Center for Rural Health-School of Medicine, Carbondale.

25 years: Deborah Harmon, College of Mass Communication and Media Arts.

Christopher

15 years: Judy K. Doolin, Recreational Sports and Services.

Mulkeytown

10 years: Jerry Ray Atchison, Physical Plant Service.

20 years: James R. Jones, Internal Auditor, SIU University-wide Services.

Thompsonville

10 years: Alicia M. Lindhorst, Curriculum and Instruction.

West Frankfort

15 years: Tammy K. Weston, Workforce Education and Development; Marion Allan Willmore, Department of Public Safety.

30 years: Gaye L. Butler, Family and Community Medicine/Carbondale-School of Medicine, Springfield.

Woodlawn

10 years: Belinda L. Kirgan, Office of Teacher Education.

Zeigler

20 years: Richard Earl Jarvis, Procurement Services.
