The following incidents were obtained from Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

AUG. 21
• Deputies responded at 10:24 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident on Rt. 51 near Shamrock Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda coupe driven by Micah R. Fender, 23, of Jacksonville was traveling southbound on Rt. 51 when he rear-ended a Honda CRV driven by Jerry A. Brown, 38, of Orlando, Fla. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. No citations were reported.
• Deputies responded at 11:44 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Rt. 13/127 near Cottontail Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Nissan Frontier driven by Zacharie J. Thompson, 19, of Villa Park was traveling southbound on Rt. 13/127 when he rear-ended a Chevy Equinox driven by Kimberly A. Farthing, 51, of Tamaroa. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. No citations were reported.

AUG. 24
• Deputies cited Morgan D. Brown, 21, of O'Fallon following a traffic stop at 9:06 p.m. in Pinckneyville on a charge of speeding.
• Deputies cited Dalton M. Day, 19, of Du Quoin following a traffic stop at 10:24 p.m. in Pinckneyville on a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
• Deputies cited Zachary D. Dasher, 19, of Pinckneyville following a traffic stop at 10:41 p.m. in Pinckneyville on a charge of operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
• Deputies cited Tristin N. Tritschler, 19, of Nashville following a traffic stop at 11:23 p.m. in Du Quoin on a charge of operating a vehicle with an expired registration sticker.

AUG. 25
• Deputies arrested Heather J. Stewart, 28, of Murphysboro at 3:06 p.m. on a failure-to-appear warrant for an original charge of unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe. Stewart was picked up in Randolph County and taken to the Perry County Jail on $15,000 bond.
• Deputies arrested Jennifer M. Freytag, 30, of Chester at 3:06 p.m. on a failure-to-appear warrant for an original charge of burglary. Freytag was picked up in Randolph County and taken to the Perry County Jail on $10,000 bond.
• Deputies cited Benjamin W. Powell, 20, of New Douglas at 9:05 p.m. on a charge of possession of cannabis following a traffic stop in Pinckneyville.
• Deputies cited Breeanna C. Durell, 20, of Highland at 9:05 p.m. on charges of unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in Pinckneyville.

AUG. 26
• Deputies cited Alexander S Alvarado, 22, of Harwood Heights at 12:10 a.m. on a charge of speeding following a traffic stop in Pinckneyville.
• Deputies cited Teyonna D. Hopson, 28, of De Soto at 12:41 a.m. on a charge of speeding following a traffic stop in Pinckneyville.
• Deputies arrested Cody J. Wright, 26, of Du Quoin at 9:43 p.m. in Du Quoin on a charge of aggravated battery to a peace officer. Wright was taken to the Perry County Jail on $30,000 bond.

AUG. 28
• Deputies arrested Taylor L. Franklin, 22, of Du Quoin at 12:53 a.m. on Halliday Avenue in Du Quoin on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of operating an uninsured vehicle, as well as a new charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Franklin was taken to the Perry County Jail.
