Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick is alerting the public to a scam involving amusement park tickets that is operating locally.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating a complaint of fake tickets to the Holiday World amusement park in Santa Claus, Indiana. These fake tickets were purchased locally over online marketplaces such as Facebook swap sites and sales sites.

The tickets appear to be authentic, and the fraudulent nature of the tickets has not been discovered until they were presented to staff at Holiday World. More than $2,000 worth of fake tickets from the region has been collected by Holiday World staff.

Vick wants area residents to know to be cautious when using any online swap sites, especially when shopping for tickets to an amusement park or any other kind of ticket that may be easily faked.
