The following incidents were obtained from Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

May 18
Deputies responded to a disturbance call in rural Benton. The investigation led to the arrest of Elijah D. Sental, 28, of Benton on a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Deputies responded at 6:01 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash at Pershing Road and County Club Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Hyundai Sonata driven by Stacey M. Hart, 33, of West Frankfort was south bound and failed to stop at the intersection, striking a fence. Hart sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by West Frankfort Fire EMS. She was later charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, DUI and possession of a controlled substance.

May 20
Deputies responded at 1:42 a.m. to a disturbance report at Covey Point Camping Area of South Marcum Campground of Rend Lake. The investigation resulted in the arrests of four male juveniles and one female juvenile for unlawful consumption of alcohol. All were from the Du Quoin area.
Deputies responded at 5:30 p.m. to a reported domestic disturbance in Orient. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Bryan E. Hollis Jr., 29, of Orient on charges of assault and resisting arrest.

May 21
Deputies responded at 4:31 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Illinois 37 north of Benton. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was northbound at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, traveling off the west side of the highway and striking a mailbox and highway sign prior to impacting a ditch and overturning. The driver, Megan J. Miller, 28, of West Frankfort sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Abbott EMS. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and DUI.
Deputies responded at 11:17 a.m. to a reported domestic dispute in Royalton. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Terry L. Leonard, 37, of Royalton on a charge of domestic battery.

May 24
Deputies responded at 4:14 p.m. to a domestic dispute in Akin. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jeremiah L. Phillips, 18, of Akin on a charge of domestic battery.

May 25
Deputies responded at 11:12 p.m. to a domestic dispute in rural West Frankfort. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Robin L. Dixon, 46, of West Frankfort on a charge domestic battery.

May 27
Deputies responded at 1:48 p.m. to a single-vehicle traffic crash at Yellow Banks and Prophet roads. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Harley Davidson driven by Joachim P.
Nowak, 59, of Christopher lost control while traveling westbound, running off the roadway. There were no injuries, but Nowak was cited for driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. A second crash occurred in relation to this crash. An eastbound 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle, a 2015 Mazda driven by John W. Shadowens, 52, of Benton. The driver of the Chevrolet failed to see the westbound motorcycle at first and was forced to pull back into the eastbound lane at a high rate of speed, striking the Mazda in a read-end-type collision. The driver of the Chevrolet, Chase A. Bates, 16, of Zeigler sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Abbott EMS. He was also cited for improper passing and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Deputies responded at 10:41 p.m. to a reported disturbance at South Sandusky Campground at Rend Lake. The investigation resulted in the arrests of James R. Rosenberry, 22, of Marion and Sean N. Mcgee, 24, of Marion on charges of battery and obstructing a police officer.

May 28
Deputies responded at 1:19 a.m. to a domestic dispute in Christopher. The investigation led to the arrest of Kiley K. Smith, 37, of Christopher on a charge of domestic battery.

May 29
An investigation of the theft of a lady's purse at Stringers Bar and Grill in rural Sesser led to the arrest of Kristie L. Williams, 47, of Benton on a charge of theft.
Deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park Campground. The investigation led to the arrest of Robert M. Tate, 28, of Mt. Vernon on a charge of domestic battery.

May 31
Deputies arrested Robert A. Yasko, 27, of Buckner at 9:45 p.m. on charges of aggravated battery, resisting arrest and criminal damage to property. The incident occurred at the county jail.

June 1
Johnny N. Layne, 49, of Orient was arrested on a charge of aggravated home repair fraud. He is being held on $50,000 bond. The investigation involved the defrauding a rural Mulkeytown woman.

June 2
Deputies responded at 1:06 p.m. to a two vehicle traffic crash on Rt. 34 near Thompsonville. The investigation revealed that a 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by Amber L. Phillips, 26, of Thompsonville was traveling westbound behind a Chevrolet truck towing two anhydrous tanks. The truck was driven by Delbert R. Robinson, 49, of Harrisburg. The Jeep rear-ended the anhydrous tanks, causing one to leak. The Jeep traveled and overturned on the roadway. Phillips sustained major injuries and was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol. Alcohol was believed to be a factor, and that is still under investigation. Thompsonville-Cave Fire Protection District, as well as Abbott EMS, assisted at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Deputies arrested Ron A. Worley, 19, of Benton on two charges of aggravated battery of a child and domestic battery. This is an ongoing investigation in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Deputies responded at 7:04 p.m. to an incident at a private residence in rural Thompsonville. The incident involved an illegal entry and theft from the residence. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Leila J. Hart, 57, of Benton on a charge of residential burglary.

June 3
Deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving an incident that had previously occurred at North Marcum Beach at Rend Lake. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Kara D. Williams, 28, of West Frankfort on a charge of domestic battery.
Deputies responded at 8:16 p.m. to a domestic dispute in Thompsonville that resulted in the arrest of Robby E. Galyean, 43, of Thompsonville on a charge of violation of bail bond.
Deputies responded at 8:56 p.m. to a domestic dispute in rural West Frankfort that resulted in the arrest of Aaron Dale Willis, 29, of Benton on a charge of criminal trespass to real property.

June 4
A traffic stop at 1:57 p.m. in West Frankfort resulted in the arrest of Phillippe J. Laurent, 35, of Coello on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

June 7
Deputies arrested Robert J. Anderson, 54, of West Frankforton a charge of being present in a public park as a convicted sexual predator. The arrest was the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred May 27 at Rend Lake.

June 8
Deputies responded at 1:07 a.m. to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Izaac Walton Road near Valier. The investigation revealed that a 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by Rickey G. Kondoudis, 41, of Buckner was eastbound when it rear-ended another eastbound vehicle traveling over a set of railroad tracks. The vehicle was a 2012 Toyota Prius driven by Patricia K. Stonikas, 58, of Valier. Stonikas sustained minor
injuries but refused medical treatment. Kondoudis was not injured, but was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving under the influence.

June 9
Deputies made an arrest in connection with the May 16 burglary of S.I. Shooter Supply in rural West Frankfort. A 17-year-old male juvenile from West Frankfort has been charged with burglary. The juvenile is being held in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.
