The Chester school district will be without two of its top administrators starting July 1, as the District 139 Board of Education approved the resignation of Chester High School Principal Sarah Gass in a special meeting on Friday.
Gass's resignation letter is dated Thursday, six days after District Superintendent Rick Goodman submitted his letter of resignation. The school board approved Goodman's resignation during a special meeting on May 23.
"With a heavy heart, we accept the resignation," said board member Debi Caraway.
Both Goodman and Gass's resignations are effective at the end of the current school year, which ends June 30.
