Morthland College celebrated its 2017 commencement May 13 at Whitfield Hall.
Keynote speaker David Melvin, chair of the college's biblical studies department, and college President Dr. Tim Morthland addressed the crowd.
The college's first recipient of a double degree, Bailie Engstrom, was the student speaker. Engstrom, of Corbett, Ore., earned degrees in business administration and biblical studies. She was also the salutatorian of the 2017 graduating class.
In addition to Engstrom, four other students earned bachelor's degrees: Dylan Burmester of Richview, Cody Schultz of Paducah, Ky., and Jon Marc Girardeau of Mobile, Ala., each earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. Robert Hagerman of Benton earned a bachelor's degree in biblical studies.
