Midway takes over Benton Square

Even for those who don't like rides, the carnival has something to offer. Here, Sharon Marconi is set up next to the giant slide, offering treats including fresh lemon shake-ups. Brady's Amusements is set up on the northeast corner of the Benton Public Square for the 46th-annual Rend Lake Water Festival. Remaining carnival hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, as well as 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
