Fire safety course geared toward women

Benton Elks Lodge 1234 and the Benton Fire Department will offer a free "Fires In The Home" fire safety class next week geared specifically toward the women in the community.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of keeping loved ones and themselves safe both before and in the event of a fire in the home. Topics will include smoke alarm installation and maintenance, carbon monoxide protection, fire escape plans and exits, electrical safety, home hazards, and fire extinguisher training, including extinguishing real fires.
All attending will receive a free home fire extinguisher.
Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 16 and 18 at the Elks Lodge. Elks will have food and drink available for purchase.
