Two Franklin County men face a range of criminal charges following a traffic stop Thursday afternoon in West Frankfort.
Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says a traffic stop around 4:13 p.m. March 23 resulted in the arrests of Kevin W. Shuman, 40, of Benton; and Monte H. Johnson, 33, of West Frankfort.
Shuman was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shuman also was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a previous felony arrest involving drug activity.
Johnson, who is on parole, was charged with possession of ecstasy with intent to deliver, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Both men were taken to the Franklin County Jail. The State's Attorney's Office is reviewing the case, and Jones says more charges are possible.
