Du Quoin man reappointed to state mining examination board

Gary Chaney of Du Quoin has been reappointed to the Illinois Miners Examining Board by Gov. Bruce Rauner, pending approval by the state Senate.

His appointment is effective Monday, March 13 and the term ends on Jan. 21, 2019.

Chaney will be paid $12,906 annually for his work on the board. The board gives monthly qualification and competency examinations to applicants who want to be certified as miners in Illinois.
