Pinckneyville musicians travel to Murray State

Four Pinckneyville Band Students attended the 70th-annual Quad State Music Festival Feb. 23 to 25 at Murray State University. On Thursday, the students auditioned for professors, who then seated them into a band based on their auditions. They spent Thursday night, all day Friday and Saturday morning preparing music for their concert, which took place Saturday at 11 a.m. While there, students had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses given by the Murray State University faculty and see multiple college band performances including the Murray State Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra.
