New hires, transfers in the Du Quoin schools

The Du Quoin school board approved several new hires and transfers at last week’s meeting.

● David Ibendahl has been hired at Du Quoin High School to teach industrial education, starting immediately.

● Bailie Caldwell has been hired as an assistant softball coach at the high school, also starting immediately.

● David Gaytan, an instructional aide at the elementary school, has been hired as a kindergarten teacher for the 2017-18 school year.

● Brittnie Kellerman, who currently teaches fourth grade, will become a kindergarten teacher at the start of the new school year this coming fall.

● Kyle Geiger, dean of students at the elementary school, will be a new physical education teacher starting this fall.

● Lynn Gross-Woodside, a special education teacher at Du Quoin High School will be reassigned as a high school guidance counselor starting in 2017-18.
