Du Quoin State Bank to celebrate America Thursday

updated: 6/29/2016 11:46 PM

Du Quoin State Bank president Dan Fulk has always been about this great community and about this great nation.
At every turn, he shows his appreciation for the American heritage and celebrates the lives of our veterans and their families.
He loves the heroes of 9-11 in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C.
He smiles at artist Normal Rockwell’s America
With that said, this Thursday night the Du Quoin State Bank is hosting a Celebration of America as sole sponsor of a Fourth of July season concert in the park event  starting at 7 p.m.
It is not part of the ever-popular Concert in the Park series, but instead is an event which shows the bank’s appreciation for the community it serves.
The evening is called “The Du Quoin State Bank Celebrates the Stars & Stripes.” It is a two-hour celebration that will begin at 7 p.m. and feature the music of Keenan Rice and the “We Got It Covered” band.
There is no admission. The music, food and prizes are all free courtesy of the Du Quoin State Bank.
There will also be a special gift for veterans.
In case of rain, the concert will be held on Friday, July 1 at the same time in Keyes City Park.
Last year, the Du Quoin State Bank sponsored one of the Concerts in the Park as part of its anniversary celebration.
It was an unforgettable night attended by 1,600-1,800 local and area residents. This night will be as large or larger.
Fulk said it promises to be a great evening because of the great employees at the bank who are wholly involved with their own families, their neighborhoods and certainly work very hard for the needs of the bank’s customers.
Our nation celebrates the Fourth of July on Monday, and Thursday night’s “Du Quoin State Bank Celebrates the Stars and Stripes” sets the tone of  a distinct appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy, for our military who provides us with these freedoms the democracy that sets us apart from every other nation on earth.
Mark your calendar and join the staff of the Du Quoin State Bank at 7 p.m. Thursday in Keyes City Park for this great event.
