The Call of the Wild: So. Ill. duck call & decoy show here August 5 & 6

Approximately 40 midwest wildlife carvers who share the “call of the wild” will be in Du Quoin Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6 for the first-ever Southern Illinois Duck Call and Decoy Show at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin.
Master carvers and collectors from as far away as Louisiana and Nebraska will be in Du Quoin for the show.
There are two things required for admission: 1.) $5 which gets you into several raffles and giveaways during the weekend, and 2.) a profound respect for how these skilled wood carvers bring to life the beauty of waterfowl and gorgeous, hand-carved duck calls from blocks of wood grown all over the world.
There is no charge for table space, but to book a table for your exhibit you need to contact Jason Furlow at (618) 942-7323.
The show will feature the work of approximately 10 Du Quoin and Elkville area carvers and the work of dozens of others from across the midwest.
The show will feature many private, valuable collections on display along with many pieces of them for sale to the public.
You would have to go to Reel Foot Lake, St. Charles, Illinois or Nashville, Tenn to find other outdoor shows this large.
So, mark your calendar. You will not be disappointed.
Also featured at the show will be many of the top call makers in the midwest, many selling their calls, but moreover a chance to see one-of-a-kind works of art.
If you would like to display your collection of calls or get a table to sell decoys, duck and goose calls and any other waterfowl related items, tables are available.
It brings skilled carvers with like interests to one community.
There will also be free appraisals on vintage and modern calls.
