This is Max! Sometimes we call him Maximilian, but he's more like Max-One-In-a-Million! This guy is 5 years old, 60 pounds, and is such a sweet boy.
Max came to us when his family moved without him; he's been through heartworm treatment and is now ready to find his new home.
He is a very affectionate and cuddly boy, knows some commands ("sit" and "lay down"), and appears to be housebroken. Max is a strong dog and is jumpy and excitable on leash; he will benefit from some obedience training.
We think he would get along great with older kids, he ignored our office cat, and he gets along with many of our other dogs. A meet-and-greet with any other dogs in the home will be required before he can be adopted.
Max has wonderfully thick soft fur and will need to be brushed regularly. If you need Max-One-In-A-Million in your life, apply for him today!
Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting.
We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to bathroom habits and demeanor. Please realize that they need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting!
If you have specific questions about Max, email the shelter volunteer at firstname.lastname@example.org or go to www.perrycountyhumanesocietyil.com to apply.
