Meet Smith! He is thought to be a terrier mix who is likely 3-4 years old. He weighs 50 pounds and as friendly with dogs, but tends to be picky about which dogs he will actually be friends with. He does not get along well with cats, but he is kid-friendly!

Smith would LOVE to be in a family that is active and likes to be outside. He has lots of energy and is always ready to play, but definitely has a soft side and would be a great movie-watching buddy. He was found running at large and was brought to PCHS to find his perfect family.

Something important to note about Smith is that he is quite the escape artist and has been known to climb fences, so he needs somewhere extra safe to live!

Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting.

We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to bathroom habits and demeanor. They need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting!

If you have any specific questions about Smith, email the shelter volunteer at or go to to apply.
