Steve and Sue Colonel weren't going to let a little thing like the COVID-19 pandemic stop their annual collection for the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry CACFP.

Every year at the high school and grade school Christmas concerts, the band directors (Steve at the high school and Sue at the grade school) take up a collection for the food pantry. But with COVID-19 running rampant, there are no Christmas concerts this year.

So last Saturday, the Colonels invited the public to drive past their beautifully decorated home at 1251 Cole Place in Chester, take in the sights and leave a donation for the food pantry. The event will be repeated on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Steve Colonel said the couple was very pleased with the turnout from the first event, and said there were many "greatly appreciated" donations to help support the good works of the CACFP.

The Colonels encourage everyone to drive by, enjoy the 2020 edition of the Colonel Christmas Decorations, and make a donation to the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry.
