MARION -- In a time where wearing masks is the new norm, a one local citizen saw an opportunity to inspire small town pride.

Reed Absher of Marion has designed masks for Marion, West Frankfort, Murphysboro, Herrin, and Crab orchard.

"I want to give people an opportunity to show their school spirit in a trying time," says Absher.

Absher took a unique approach in creating the masks.

"To make the design, I referenced existing logos and imagery for local high schools," he said. "Then I used Adobe Illustrator to replicate those designs and edit them in a way to fit the masks."

After the design process was completed, Absher was ready to market his creations.

"I uploaded the designs to Redbubble, which essentially allows me to license my designs to the site," he said.

All of the masks are available for purchase at Redbubble.com under the username of RABSHER. They can also be found on Absher's Facebook page.
