The Gold Plate program of Perry County in Du Quoin is producing hot meals Monday through Friday (closed on holidays) during the pandemic.
People able to pick them up can come between 10 a.m. and noon at 721 N. Hickory in Du Quoin. Suggested donation for seniors is $3.50. Those under 60 are asked to pay $6.
Meanwhile, people who need the meals delivered to their homes will receive one hot meal and four frozen meals every Monday, to last through the week.
The staff at Gold Plate are no longer putting out menus in advance, as there is no guarantee they can obtain the foods they need. Instead, the kitchen staff is putting together nutritious meals each day based on what is available.
Call (618) 542-3511 to order at-home delivery. Gold Plate's Adult Day Service and Meal Sites remain closed.
