PINCKNEYVILLE - The Perry-Jackson Child Advocacy Center sponsored its 16th annual Family Fun Day at the Perry County Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Pinckneyville Saturday.

There were a variety of games with giveaways for children and information for adults about organizations in Southern Illinois which offer help and support to children and families. All refreshments and prizes were provided through generous donations of area businesses and the organizations participating in Fun Day.

Betty Mucha, Director of the Child Advocacy Center, said that employees at the center work in direct communication with investigators of child-related incidents, conducting interviews at both the main office in Pinckneyville and the satellite office in Murphysboro.

The center's work deals with the harsh realities of child abuse and neglect in society, and Mucha expressed appreciation to many individuals, businesses, and organizations in the county which support the center's day-to-day operation, as well as special events like the Fun Day.
