Buchheit stores collected $6,304 this winter as part of their seventh annual fundraiser for Future Farmers of America. Buchheit of Sparta raised $581 and donated their proceeds to the FFA chapters at Marissa High School, Christ Our Savior High School in Evansville, and Sparta High School.
During the fundraiser, customers were asked to donate $1 or $5 to their local chapter. Proceeds will be used to provide funds to attend state competitions, or aid in buying food for school-owned livestock.
Buchheit also supports FFA by attending county fairs each year to purchase livestock from each of the local FFA chapters.
Buchheit then donates the livestock back to each chapter, so they can resell the livestock to others within the community.
