Illinois' incoming statewide officeholders have received prayers and blessings at an interfaith service that's part of the inauguration festivities.

Republican Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner and Attorney General Lisa Madigan were among those who attended the Monday morning service at a downtown Springfield church where Abraham Lincoln once worshipped.

Religious leaders participating include Archbishop Blase Cupich and the Rev. James Meeks, both of Chicago, along with Muslim and Jewish leaders.

Choirs from Springfield and New Life Community Church Choir of East St. Louis also performed.

Official ceremonies for the inauguration are for later Monday.
