Police are searching for Xzavier B. Gibbs, 17, as a suspect in a Dec. 28 shooting in Harrisburg.
Saline County State’s Attorney Mike Henshaw issued an arrest warrant for Gibbs Dec. 31. The warrant lists Gibbs’ last known address as 213 W. Baker St., though Police Chief Bob Smith said he does not believe Gibbs’ maintains a permanent address.
Gibbs faces charges of attempted first degree murder and aggravated battery against Bobby R. Evans, according to the arrest warrant.
Evans was shot in the chest with non-life threatening injuries. He remained hospitalized Tuesday, Smith said.
There was possibly a second shooter, but that cannot be confirmed until crime scene technicians perform a ballistics analysis, Smith said.
The shooting occurred in a lawn on the 500 block of North Jackson Street. Smith said police believe the shooting resulted from an earlier dispute between Gibbs and the victim.
Bond for Gibbs’ arrest is set at $50,000.
The shooting occurred the night of another reported shooting in Carrier Mills, though no one was injured in that incident. Smith said so far there is no evidence the two incidents are related.
