Greg and Cheryl Bigham of Bigham Farms, Rick and Connie Krone of Krone Farms, Ken and Julie Maschhoff and Karen and Dave Maschhoff of Maschhoff Farms will host a fund-raising breakfast for Republican congressional candidate Mike Bost on Saturday, Sept. 13 starting at 8 a.m. at Bigham Farms west of Du Quoin.
The breakfast will be served in what was formerly the Consolidation Coal Co. Central Shop building, now home to Bigham Farms.
Invitations were mailed out last week.
Other sponsors include Rep. Charlie Meier, Gayle and Dick Pyatt, Connie and Randy Rubenacker and Flamm Orchards.
Special guest will be U.S. House Agriculture Chairman Frank Lucas.
The morning will include roundtable discussions from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., photo opportunities from 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and breakfast from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Since this is a fund-raiser for Mike Bost’s congressional race against incumbent Bill Enyart there is a suggested donation of $2,600 for roundtable involvement, photo opportunity and breakfast; a donation of $1,000 to include the photo opportunity and breakfast and $250 for breakfast for one.
Lucas, 54, is the U.S. Representative for Oklahoma's 3rd congressional district, serving since 2003, having previously represented the 6th district, from 1994 to 2003. He is a member of the Republican Party and chairs the House Committee on Agriculture. His district, numbered as the 6th district from 1994 to 2003, is the largest congressional district in the state and one of the largest in the nation that doesn't cover an entire state. It covers an area of 34,088.49 square miles and stretches from the panhandle to the fringes of the Tulsa suburbs—almost half of the state's land mass.
