The politician, Irv Irving, has been a thorn in Harry';s side for years, yet he specifically wants Bosch on the case. "The Drop" is the latest from popular Michael Connelly.

"Micro" by Richard Preston

Before Michael Crichton died in 2008, he had begun a manuscript about a group of young scientists from Cambridge, Mass., who are recruited by a nanotechnology company in Hawaii to work on a cutting-edge project. Richard Preston, author the 1994 non-fiction blockbuster "The Hot Zone," was commissioned to complete the manuscript. "Micro" is now in print. It features that group of young scientists who have all been reduced to a half-inch in height by the evil owner of Nanigen Micro Technologies and left to fend for themselves in the rainforest of Oahu.


"I Am Half-Sick of Shadows" by Alan Bradley

As Christmas descends on Buckshaw, the moldering ancestral estate of the de Luce family, preparations are under way to welcome a film crew that has rented the house for a new movie starring Phyllis Wyvern. The location shoot is a financial boon for cash-strapped Col. de Luce as well as a welcome diversion for the residents of Bishop';s Lacey. But an even bigger diversion is in store as a blizzard strands the villagers and the film crew at the estate, and one of the crew is murdered.
