• Movie night featuring "Red Riding Hood," 6 p.m., Benton Public Library. The free event is open to children and their parents or guardians.

• BCHS Class of 1950 luncheon, 11 a.m., Cozy Table Restaurant, Benton. All classmates, spouses and guests encouraged to attend.
• Gospel singing featuring Glad Heart Quartet, 7 p.m., at the Historic Mt. Pleasant Church, located on Mt. Pleasant Road, which is halfway between Rend City and Valier just off Park Street Road. Everyone is welcome to join us for a great night of worshiping through song. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

• BCHS Class of 1951 60th Reunion at Benton Elks Lodge, 167 Industrial Park Rd., Benton. Fellowship time, 4 p.m.; Cathy's Studio will take a group photo, 5:45 p.m.; buffet, 6 p.m.
• Fundraiser spaghetti dinner to benefit 6-year-old cancer patient Cannon McKee, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sesser First Baptist Church. Silent auction will take place during dinner; bidding closes at 7 p.m., and you need not be present to win. T-shirts also being sold. Advance tickets and/or T-shirts may be ordered by calling the church, 625-2291. All proceeds will go to the McKee family to help defray medical and travel expenses.

• St. Joseph Catholic Church annual Fish Fry, 4 to 7 p.m., Parish Hall West Main, Benton.
Serving catfish fillet, fried walleye, popcorn shrimp, chicken strips, potato salad, cole slaw, applesauce, baked beans and hushpuppies. Carry-outs and walk-ins welcome.

• Sesser Area Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest 2011, Sesser Miners Memorial Park, Route 148 South. Craft booths, food booths, BBQ cook-off, WQRL Car Show, Wiffle Ball contest and more. For more information, call 625-5566.
